The Gift You Haven't Developed Yet

July 16, 2026

Calling rarely arrives finished. It arrives as raw material.

You are not behind. You are becoming. The gift inside you is real, but it may not be ready for the stage you are asking it to fill.

Too many people abandon their calling because their first attempts are awkward. The first draft is weak. The first pitch flops. The first product underwhelms. And they conclude that they were never meant to do it.

But calling is not the same as skill. Calling is the direction. Skill is the development. One is given. The other is built.

The parable of the talents is not about people who had perfect abilities. It is about people who were faithful with what they were given. The reward went to the ones who multiplied it, not the ones who were born with the most.

So do the small, unglamorous work. Practice when no one is watching. Study the craft. Take the class. Make the bad version. Learn from it. Make a better one. Repeat.

Your gift is not less real because it is undeveloped. It is just not finished. And God is not in a hurry. He is far more interested in your faithfulness than your timeline.

Stop comparing your raw material to someone else's finished product. Show up today with what you have. Develop it. Trust the process. The version of you that is needed is being formed right now.

Your calling is not behind you. It is ahead of you. Keep walking.
